Évora and Monsaraz: Prehistory, Roman Occupation, and Medieval Era

One of the most enticing aspects of this journey is the profound historical diversity that you can experience here.

Prehistory: Both Évora and Monsaraz boast prehistoric monuments that attest to ancient human presence. We will visit cromlechs that tell ancient tales, and one of these monuments, the Cromlech of Almendres, is 2,000 years older than Stonehenge.

Roman Occupation: A stroll through Évora will inevitably lead us to the Roman Temple, a reminder of the city’s Roman name.

Medieval Era: As we approach Monsaraz, we encounter this walled village atop a significant elevation, transporting us back to the medieval period during its construction.
